Following Eligibility Conditions are to be fulfilled by the candidate for Engagement
Age Limit - The Minimum and Maximum of age for the purpose of engagement to GDS Posts shall be 18 to 30 years respectively as on the date of Notification of the Vacancy. The Maximum age shall be relaxable by 3 years to those belonging to OBC categories and 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC / ST.
Educational Qualification - The Educational qualification for engagement should be based on the marks secured in the Secondary School Examination of Class 10th Standard or Equivalent thereof conducted by any recognized Board of School Education in India.
The candidates of all approved categories referred to in Above will be required to furnish At least 60 days Duration Basic Computer Training certificate from a recognized Computer Centre. Computer Training Certificates from Central Government / State Government / University / Boards etc. will also be acceptable for this purpose. Certificates from Privet Computer Training Center shall also be acceptable subject to their recognition by Head of the Postal Circle concerned based on their reputation, credibility and quality of Education (Copy of a list of such Computer Centers approved by the Head of West Bengal Postal Circle is enclosed). This requirement of basic computer knowledge certificate shall be relaxable in cases where a candidate has studied Computer as a subject in Matriculation or Higher Secondary level and such in case, a separate certificate will not be insisted upon.
Residence - The candidates belonging to a place other than a Post village can also apply for the Post and such candidates should take up his / her residence in the Post Village where the Post office is located and he / she must reside there in the event of his / her selection. The selected candidates shall be required to comply with the prescribed condition within one Month after selection but before engagement.
Accommodation - Post Office shall be located in the accommodation to be provided by Gramin Dak Sevak Branch Postmaster suitable for use as Post Office premises. Rent of the Post Office accommodation shall not be born by the Departments. The select candidates shall be required to comply with the prescribed condition within One months after selection before Engagement.
Adequate means of Livelihood - A Gramin Dak Sevak shall have to give an undertaking that he / she has the other sources of income besides the allowances paid or to be paid by the Government for adequate means of livelihood for Himself / herself and his / her Family. The selected candidate shall be required to comply with this prescribed condition within 30 days after selection but before engagement.
Furnishing Security - A candidate selected to the Post of Gramin Dak Sevak Branch Postmaster should have to furnish security of Rs.25000/ only in the form of fidelity bond or NSC pledged to the Departments in the name of the President of India subject to the condition that the amount of security should be increased / decreased so as to be equal to the amount of cash and valuable that is authorized to be entrusted to them under the orders of Divisional Superintendent or the Head of the Circle, as the case may be.

The candidate should furnish application in his / her own Hand writing. Full and Clear information should be given in all columns of the Application otherwise the application will be rejected straightway. The Envelop should bear inscription "Application for the Post of GDSBPM in Branch Post Office name".
The Copies of certificates submitted should be noted in the application in the space provided, with his / her dated Signature. Applications not accompanied with all the necessary documents as mentioned in Para 4 or with incomplete information will be rejected straightway - Required documents must be submitted with applications-

Self Attested Copy of Mark Sheet of Secondary School Examination passed of 10th Standard or Equivalent examination from any recognized Board of School in India.

Application for Gramin Dak Sevak Branch Post Master (GDSBPM)
Candidates required to Download Application Form in here. Application form is correctly & completely filled up by candidates own Hand Writing. Attached with all relevant Documents & with Application Form. The Application should be address to the undersigned and send by Registered Post or Speed Post only so as to reach on or before 08.07.2016 positively. No application will be be accepted through Ordinary Post or by Hand. Application submitted by any other means will not be accepted. Any Application received after the 08.07.2016 for whatsoever reason will be rejected straightway.
The Envelop containing the application should be superscribed in Bold letters as " APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF GDSBPM (Name of the Branch Post Office) BO" and should and should be sent to the following Address - The Superientendent of Post Offices, North Hooghly Division, PO- Chinsurah, Dist- Hooghly, 712101. Application & envelop received without the above superscription & name of BO for which applied for, will be rejected straightway. Each envelop should contain One application only. Separate application should be made for each Post . A single application form applied for more than one post and envelop containing more than one application will be rejected straightway. Important Information :
The candidates should not be an elected member of the Panchayet or other Statutory Bodies.
A Gramin Dak Sevak Shall be outside the Civil Service of the Union of India.
Terms and Conditions of engagement to GDS Posts shall apply as stipulated in rule 3-A & 29A of GDS (Conduct & Engagement) Rule, 2011.
Selection will be made by a Committee Strictly based on marks secured only in Secondary School Examination Pas certificate of 10th Standard conducted by any recognized Board of School examination in India. The engagement is purely Temporary and in the nature of a conducted liable to terminated by the competent authority at any time within one Months prior Notice or Forthwith. The work is Part time for a period of 3 to 5 hours a day and appointment will not confer any right upon the candidate to claim any regular full time post in the Department.
Any kind of influence brought by the candidates regarding selection / engagement will be considered as disqualified. Selection will be made on merit basic subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria. No correspondence attempting to influence the selection process will be entertained.
Application wrongly addressed or received after due date are liable to be rejected, whatever may be the reason for delay. Applications without required certificates and incomplete applications are liable to be rejected. No intimation will be sent to the applicant in this regard. If any information or documents furnished / submitted by the candidate is found to be false at a later date, the selection / engagement is liable to be terminated apart from intimating prosecution. The candidates selected for the post if found unfit on medical test shall have no right to claim engagement.
