In accordance with the provisions of sub section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) had vide Notification dated 23rd August 2010 and 29th July 2011 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in classes I to VIII. It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualification for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in clause of the section 2 of the RTE Act is that he / she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the guidelines framed by the NCTE.

The Scheduled of KARTET 2016 Examination given below-
18th December 2016 - Paper-I (2.30 Hours) - 9.30 AM to 12 PM.
18th December 2016 - Paper II (2.30 Hours) - 2 PM to 4.30 PM.

All Question in KARTET test will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. There will be no negative marking. There will be two papers of KARTET.
Paper-I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
Paper-II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Examination Structure :
For Paper-I (Primary Stage Teacher) : Total 150 MCQs Question & 150 Marks.
Child Development and Padagogy - 30 question (30 marks).
Language I - 30 question (30 marks).
Language II - 30 Question (30 marks).
Mathematics - 30 question (30 marks).
Environmental Studies - 30 question (30 marks).

For Paper-II (Elementary Stage) : Total 150 MCQs Question & 150 Marks.
Child Development & Pedagogy - 30 question (30 marks).
Language I - 30 Question (30 marks).
Language II - 30 question (30 marks).
For Mathematics and Science Teacher (Math and Science) / For Social Studies or Social Science Teacher (Social Science) - 60 Question (60 marks).

The Candidates may download their KARTET Admit Card 2016 from official website from 28th November 2016 onwards and appear for the examination at the given centre. in case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his photograph and signatures shown in the admit card and conformation page the candidate may immediately contact KARTET for necessary correction.

Important Instructions :
The examination rooms / hall will be opened 30 minutes before the commencement of Examination. Candidates should be take their seat immediately after opening of the examination hall. If the candidates do not report on time due to any reason.
The candidate must show on demand the admit card downloaded from KARTET website for admission in the examination hall / room. A candidate who does not possess the valid Admit Card shall not be permitted for the examination under any circumstances by the Centre Superintendent.
A Seat indicating roll number will be allocated to each candidate. Candidates should find and occupy their allocated seat only. Any candidates found to have changed room or the seat on his / her own other than allotted, his / her candidature shall be cancelled and no plea would be accepted for it.
A candidate who comes after the commencement of the examination shall not permitted to sit in the examination.
Candidates are not allowed to carry any textual material, Calculators, Document, Whitener, Eraser Pen, Slide Rules, Log Tables and Electronic Watches withg facilities of calculator, printed or written material, bits of papers, mobile phone, pager or any other device, except the Admit Card and Blue/Black Ball Point pen inside the Examination Room/ Hall. If any candidate is in possession of any of the above item, his / her candidature will be treated as unfair means and cancel the current examination & also debarred the candidate for future examination (s) & the material will be seized.
No candidate without the special permission of the Cenre Superintendent or the Invigilator concerned, will leave his / her seat or examination Room until the full duration of the paper is over. Candidates should not leave the room / hall without handing over their answer Sheets to the Invigilator on duty. If not it will be treated as absent for the examination.
They should bring their own Ball Point Pen (Blue / Black) of goof quality. These will not be supplied by the CAC.
Smoking, Chewing gutka, Spiting etc. in the Examination Room / Hall is strictly prohibited.
Tea, Coffe, Cold Drinks or Snacks are not allowed to be taken into the examination hall during examination hours.
Ten minutes before the commencement of the paper, each candidate will be given sealed Test Booklet with an Answer Sheet placed inside it.
