Course Details & Seat Capacity:
Jadavpur University BA Honours Admission 2017 under faculty of Arts in subjects of - Bengali, Comparative Literature, Economics, English, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology. Details of Seat Capacity will be available shortly.

Eligibility Criteria:
An applicant must have complete results at the High Secondary (10+2) examination or equivalent at the time of application. Minimum aggregate marks at HS level is given below-
For Bengali - General candidates (at least 60%  in aggregate & 60% marks in Bengali), PD Candidates (at least 57% in aggregate & 57% marks in Bengali), for SC/ST candidates (at least 45% in aggregate & 45% marks in Bengali) & for OBC / Kashmiri Maigrants / Sports candidates (at least 54% in aggregate with 54% marks in Bengali).
For Comparative Literature - General Candidates (at least 60% in aggregate & 60% marks in First and Second Language each), PD candidates (at least 57% in aggregate & 57% marks in First and Second language each), SC/ST candidates (at least 45% in aggregate & 45% marks in First and Second Language each) & OBC/Kashmiri Migrants/Sports Candidates ( at least 54% in aggregate & 54% marks in First and Second language both).
For Economics - General Candidates (at least 70% in aggregate & 75% marks in mathematics), PD candidates (at least 66% in aggregate & 71% marks in mathematics), SC/ST Candidates (at least 52% in aggregate & 56% marks in mathematics) & OBC/Kashmiri Migrants/Sports candidates (63% in aggregate & 67% marks in mathematics). Marks in Business Mathematics will not be considered.
For English & History - General candidates (75% marks in aggregate), PD candidates (71% marks in aggregate), SC/ST candidates (56% marks in aggregate) & OBC/Sports / Kashmiri Migrants (67% marks in aggregate).
For Sociology - General candidates (60% marks in aggregate), PD candidates (57% marks in aggregate), SC/ST candidates (45% marks in aggregate) & OBC/Kashmiri Migrants/Sports (at least 54% marks in aggregate).
For Philosophy - General Candidates (50% marks in aggregate), PD candidates (47% marks in aggregate), SC/ST candidates (37% marks in aggregate), OBC/Kashmiri Migrants/Sports Candidates (45% marks in aggregate).
For Political Science - General candidates (65% marks in aggregate), PD candidates (61% marks in aggregate), SC/.ST candidates (48% marks in aggregate) & OBC/Kashmiri Migrants / Sports candidates (58% marks in aggregate).
For Sanskrit - General Candidates (60% in aggregate & 65% marks in Sanskrit), PD candidates (57% marks in aggregate & 61% marks in Sanskrit), SC/ST candidates (45% in Aggregate & 48% marks in Sanskrit) & OBC / Kashmiri Migration/Sports Candidates (54% in Aggregate & 58% marks in Sanskrit).

Selection Process:
For Economics - Marks obtained by the candidates in Mathematics shall be added to the aggregate marks calculated following the guidelines laid down in aggregate marks calculation to arrive at the final score. Students shall be ranked according to their final score out of 50.
For History, Sanskrit & Sociology - On the basic of aggregate marks obtained in the High Secondary / equivalent examination.
For Comparative Literature - on the basic of a two hour written test.
For Political Science - On the basic of 50% weightage to the aggregate percentage obtained in High Secondary or equivalent examination. 50% weightage to the performance in a written test.
For Bengali - On the basic of 20% weightage of aggregate marks calculated following the guidlines laid down in aggregate marks calculation. 50% weightage of marks obtained in Bengali & English taken together in H.S / equivalent examination. 130% weightage of marks obtained in Bengali in H.S / Equivalent examination.
For Philosophy - In accordance with a merit list based on 50% wrightage to the aggregate percentage obtained in HS / Equivalent examination & 50% weightage to the performance in a written test.
For English - All candidates will have to appear in two and half hour admission test. The test will be in two part, of 30 + 100 marks respectively. The scripts of only those who obtained the minimum marks set by the Department in the first part will be evaluated in the second part. The merit list will be determined solely on the basic of marks obtained in second part.

Application Fees:
Candidates required to pay Application Fees online through SBI Collect system using Net Banking / Credit card / Debit Card and print the e-recipt from SBI website. Now candidates have to upload the fees deposition details (SB Collect Ref. No) in this website. Log into students account using Application No / Login ID at any time. In the Acknowledgement and Admit Card page upload your fees deposit details by clicking Insert Fee Details. On submission of fees deposit details, the Admit card (where Applicable) will be generated. Print the Admit card for Written Admission Test only.

Admission Test dates:
For Comparative Literature - 27.06.207 (12 noon to 2 pm) at Dept of Cpmparative Literature.
English - 28.06.2017 (12 noon to 2.30 pm) at Dept of English.
Philosophy - 29.06.2017 (11.30 am to 1.30 pm) Dept of Philosophy.
Political Science - 29.06.2017 (2.30 pm to 4.30 pm) at Dept of International Relations.
Qualifying Test for those who have passed the (10+2) examination through correspondence / patracher / open school method (for Bengali, History, Sanskrit, Sociology and Economics) will be held on 27.06.2017 at 3 pm in the respective departments.

Important Instructions & Special dates should be remembered:
Before applying read & print How to Apply Process & Important Dates carefully.
Each candidates will need to register only once. After registration, he / she can apply as many departments he / she wishes (if eligible). He / she must note the Log in ID for future use.
After each application, he / she will get a unique Application No. using this no he / she can re-login into the system.
After 48 hours or form fill up, candidates should pay the application fess online through SBI e Collect Portal.
After online payment through SBI I Collect System, candidates have to upload the fees deposit details (SB Collect Ref No.) by login to the system using Application No / Log In ID. If candidates do not upload the fees deposit details within 20.06.2017 in the website, application shall not be complete. Incomplete and / or incorrect application shall be liable to be cancelled.
The candidates will then need to take a print out of admit card (if applicable) following all necessary instructions.
candidates must produce the admit card with two self attested photograph of the candidate pasted on it at the time of written admission test.
Admission test will have to be taken in English or Bengali.
If any candidates wants to fill the form second time, he / she has to enter his / her HS or equivalent registration No. / Index No follwed by dup (for example if your Hs or equivalent Registration / Index no is 58008456 then you will have to enter 5008456dup).
