QUAIL BIRD FIRMING
Advantages of quail farming:
Quail birds grow very fast. Broiler quails can be sold in the market at 4 weeks of age. At 4 weeks of age the weight is 125 grams and at 5 weeks the weight is 140-150 grams. 6 quails contain 1 kg of meat. Quails start laying eggs from the age of 6-7 weeks. According to the research, if the ratio of male and female birds in the farm is 1: 2 or 1: 3, they will have good chicks. A quail lays a total of 250-260 eggs a year. Eggs are capable of producing 75% of the chicks (fertile eggs).
If the mother or brooding quail lays eggs, she can hatch the baby with it, but this method cannot be done on a commercial basis. The baby is hatched in an incubator on a scientific basis. The baby quail is then placed in the brooder. During this time the brooder temperature has to be controlled for 0-3 weeks or the baby quail may die.
